29

I had a good birthday. For those of you who didn't know, yesterday was my 29th birthday. When my dad called to wish me a happy birthday he asked me if I felt older. That is a traditional question that every member of the Autrey family(Autrey is my maiden name) asks each other on their birthday. I, too, ask other members of the Autrey family the same thing on their birthday. The question comes out without even thinking. It is kind of a silly question when you think about it, but it is just so ingrained in all of us that we say it with out even thinking. Any way, I told him that I didn't feel any older because the whole past year I couldn't remember if I was 28 or 29. So now that I am actually 29 I don't feel any different.

My birthday was a nice one. Josh and the kids gave me several presents, one of them being especially thoughtful. Just in case you didn't know, I have my lip pierced. Josh bought me a heart shaped lip stud and had a very very tiny "T" engraved on it. I was so impressed! Not only was it sweet and thoughtful, but pretty darn creative too. He and Luke gave it too me the night before my birthday. That is a little tradition around our house for Christmas and birthdays. We each can open one present on Christmas eve night or the night before our birthday. It is just a fun family tradition.

It was a nice day, full of thoughtful cards and gifts and feeling very loved.

happy birthday! i know exactly what you mean about forgetting how old you are. i seriously can never remember if i'm 27 or 28. when someone asks me and i answer, i always wonder if i answered right. can you imagine what we'll be like when we're in our 50s if we can't remember our age now?? ha!
