Challenge

I am issuing a challenge. Meagan and I will be spending this next week(and longer, if necessary) praying a searching scripture for a particular verse that can be a part of our statement of purpose. We are in the process of writing our bylaws and we would like a scripture to be in our mission statement. I have several scriptures that immediately come to mind when I think of what a miracle from God that each unborn life is. But I would like your input also. I challenge you to search the scriptures and let me know what the Lord shows you. Anything that has to do with the uniqueness of each life, the sacredness of life, how much Jesus loves each one of us, or any verse where the Lord reveals something to you that could even remotely relate to our organization. I want all the verses you can throw my way. Feel free to post more than once if the Lord shows you more scripture throughout the week. I am going to compile them all, and then next Tueday Meagan and I will talk and pray through them all. You are also more than welcome to throw your own two cents in if the Lord shows you something. I am praying that the Holy Spirit will guide each of you and whisper something special to you this week.

"I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you."
-Ephesians 1:18

Happy reading!

Psalm 139:13-16 -- For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

And probably not what you're looking for, but my favorite verse at the moment, Zephaniah 3:17 -- The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.

There's something else sticking in the back of my head, I'll comment again when I think of it. :)

Hi Jessica,

Thanks for posting on my blog. Luke is a good name, and I love that your eldest son and mine share it! I am in awe about Treyson having Vater syndrome. I would like to talk to you more about it if you want. I am also very interested in your prolife nonprofit. I have been trying to figure out how to create a prolife organization for parents who are considering abortion in my hometown - especially if their baby was diagnosed with disabilities as ours were. Even though the end result was the same - we lost our babies - I thank God everyday for the chance to at least hold Luke in my arms. I've always been pro-life, but after having doctors strongly suggest to my husband and I to terminate our pregnancy with Luke I feel like it is my mission to get the word out about the BLESSINGS that come with continuing with a pregnancy with a poor prognosis. I think I am rambling now. I would love to talk more with you. My email is elizabethtimmerman@hotmail.com.

When I was growing up we had a wall of family pictures. Mom hung up this scripture in memory of her three miscarriages. They were all boys.

Isaiah 49 15 &16:

15 "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast
and have no compassion on the child she has borne?
Though she may forget,
I will not forget you!

16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands;

I just wanted to tell you what an amazing lady you are. I am enjoying getting to spend more time with you and getting to know you even better. I love watching who you were when I first met you until now. What an amazing God we serve! I was excited to see that spark back in your eye Monday when we were talking about the organization. I love you and I am praying for you.

THE SPIRIT OF GOD HAS MADE ME; THE BREATH OF THE ALMIGHTY GIVES ME LIFE. Job 33:4

Hi Jessica,
I thought of the following verse:
John 15:16-17
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other."
It has spoken to me this evening.
I hope you are having a good night.
Hugs and prayers,
Amanda

Jessica,

Thank you for stopping by my blog and for taking the time to pray for me. I appreciate it so much!

I was also going to recommend Job 33:4, but someone beat me to it! =)

I don't know how much it applies, but this verse has always stuck with me. "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1

These are the first ones I found...

Jeremiah 1:5- "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

John 10:27-29- "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand."

Psalm 100:3- Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture."

This immediately sprang to mind:

Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version)

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I love this verse... I love the security it promises. I believe it speaks to us all, born and UNBORN.
He has plans to prosper and NOT TO HARM. So powerful. I think it would be great for a mission statement because it also offers hope to women in any circumstance. No matter the past, He promises to guide our futures.
I'll be praying! Thanks for letting me share what is on my heart. :)
